Cannot resume paused prospects in sequence

Symptom

Resuming the paused prospects in sequence does not work as expected - the paused prospects remain in a pending state. There are two similar scenarios where this occurs:

1. The prospects move into a paused state as soon as they are added to a sequence.

2. The prospects in any step are automatically marked as paused and cannot be resumed.

Resolution

1. If the sequence is disabled, enable it by:

  • navigate to the sequence list
  • locate the sequence you wish to enable
  • click the 3 dots next to the sequence
  • click on the Activate option

2. If the template is disabled:

  • open the affected sequence
  • locate the step that prospects are pausing on
  • click the greyed out pill icon next to the step, on the right-hand side

Cause

There are two potential causes for this issue.

1. The sequence is not enabled so prospects being added to the sequence are immediately marked as paused.

2. The sequence step prospects are moving into has a template, but it is not enabled.
