Sequence Template Steps
Answer
Yes, you can indeed add a CC or BCC recipient to a template or seuqence template step, just keep in mind, there are some drawbacks.
- If you add it to the sequence template, for Auto-Email steps, any user using that sequence will also have their email CC to whoever is added as the CC or BCC recipient, not just the person who added it, as there's no way to distinguish in an auto email sequence. For Manual-Email steps, you can limit to an individual, by manually adding it in the email task window, prior to sending.
- Open tracking and click tracking becomes ineffective . How the open tracking works is, when enabled, an invisible 1x1 pixel image is embedded in the body of the message and once that message is opened (Regardless of who did it), that pixel is automatically download. When that download occurs, that is what is relayed back to Outreach as an email open. Keep in mind that Outreach does not distinguish between who opens the email, for open tracking. So, if any of the CC'd recipients open your email or clicks the link within the email, it will still register as an opened email or clicked link on the platforms side by the primary recipient (i.e. the prospect) .
Outside of the drawbacks above, you can perform this action. If you have further questions regarding this, please reach out to support@outreach.io
