---|
This feature is currently in BETA; only select organizations that utilize Salesforce as their CRM and opt-in by consenting to our BETA Terms & Conditions will have access to this feature. Inline Editing support for Microsoft Dynamics is coming soon. |
Purpose
The purpose of this article is to provide information to Outreach Users on how they can keep opportunities current by updating opportunity fields inline on the Opportunity List View, with automatic, real-time updates to CRM.
Additionally, users can use the newly introduced Forecasting Widgets to review and submit forecasts from the Opportunity list view. To learn more about forecasting from the deal grid, refer to this overview article.
Intended Audience
- Outreach Users
Overview
With this feature, AEs can quickly and easily update their opportunities, removing the need to jump between systems and allowing them to focus on selling tasks.
Additionally, they can submit their forecast to their manager from the same interface they use to manage their deals.
How Inline Editing works on the Opportunity List View page
- Visit the Opportunities page to review and update their opportunities. For example, if an AE needs to change the close date for an opportunity, they can click on the date field and select a new date from the date picker.
- The AE will then see a loading icon indicating that the edited Opportunity field update is being synced with CRM.
- Once the update succeeds, the user will see a confirmation message that the update has been successfully passed back to CRM.
- If there is any issue with updating the field field, Outreach will display the same error message that would show in CRM.
- For example, if an AE were to update the close date field and their organization’s CRM rules require an update to the “next step notes” field, they would see an error message outlining this requirement.
Note: Only fields that have been set to sync bi-directionally in the CRM plugin will be editable, if a field is not editable it is because updates to that field are not set up to pass back to CRM. If you think this is a mistake contact your internal Outreach admin.
- For example, if an AE were to update the close date field and their organization’s CRM rules require an update to the “next step notes” field, they would see an error message outlining this requirement.
- Some fields that are local only to Outreach (Eg: Tags) can be updated inline, but will not be synced back to CRM.
- If desired, reps can update the "Owner" field directly from a picklist. If Multi-User Assignment (MUA) is enabled, reps can also select one or more users in the "Assigned" field when updating values.
