Outreach messages sent with the open tracking feature enabled
Answer
If the prospect's email settings has blocked/disabled external images from being displayed and downloaded, then this will also negatively affect the open tracking of the message.
To track open engagements, we simply embed a small 1x1 tracking pixel image into the bottom of the message. If that invisible image is ever downloaded, we count that as an open activity. However, if a prospect has disabled external images from appearing in mailings, this prevents them from downloading the image, which prevents us from tracking that open engagement.
It is common for many workplaces to disable automatic external image download by default for security reasons, and this can negatively impact your open rates. This cannot be bypassed as it's a security setting on the prospect's end and their email. They will need to enable external images in their email settings.
Keep in mind that an open activity may not always be done 100% by the prospect. Please see the below support articles for more information on this.
