If you'd like to send traffic to Outreach and wish to have those leads tracked as referrals from you or your company, there's a simple step you can take to make this possible on our end.
This step only requires you to modify the URL you are linking to Outreach with to add a simple bit of code at the end.
Modifying The URL
Whatever your link text is, when you link to our site, just add a bit of code onto the end of the URL you're linking to Outreach with. The simple addition looks like this:
In the case above, we'll log "AndrewKinzer" as the referrer. Alternatively, you could link with a URL like this:

You have the option of linking this URL to a piece of text or a button. The text can say anything you want - but we do recommend hyperlinking words like:
The anchor text you use to link with is helpful for SEO, and gives a bigger hit target with longer and more descriptive keywords so your readers are more likely to click through.
Q: Can I make up my own referral ID?
A: We'd prefer you didn't. If you plan to work with us as a referral partner, we want to ensure you use something that allows us to consistently track you and your identity. Get in touch so we can use something specific.
Q: If they land on a page, then navigate around, will you still track it even though the "?r=AndrewKinzer" is not on the end of the page now that they went to a second or third page and the browser loses it?
A: Yes, we ensure that if they land on our website, and navigate around, we'll still be able to attribute a lead form input to your referral ID.
Q: What happens if somebody leaves your website, and comes back later that day, or tomorrow?
A: We can still track that person was originally brought to us through your referral link, and you'll still get the credit when they do fill out the lead form.
You bet it does! Check out the video below to see what happens when somebody lands on our website. In this case, we have made the referral field in our form visible purely for demonstration purposes, however when you or regular users see the form, it is there, but behind the scenes.
