New sequence steps can be safely added once the sequence has begun running.
However, it is generally not recommended to alter or remove an existing sequence step as this can cause inconsistent behavior. Review the additional details below for careful handling.
Adding Steps
Steps can be added to a sequence once the sequence has begun by editing it. Prospects in the middle of the sequence will go through the step.
Removing Steps
Prior to editing or removing steps, please ensure that a Prospect is not enrolled in the sequence step as this can result in inconsistent behavior. If steps need to be edited or removed, Outreach advises cloning the sequence, removing or updating steps in the clone before adding prospects, and then archiving the old sequence.
