Purpose:
The purpose of this article is to provide direction to Outreach Users in configuring an Outreach Success Plan.
Outreach Success Plans are trusted and transparent plans for sales teams to stay aligned with Prospects during complex deals and onboardings. Success Plans eliminate the need for the sales teams to rely on fragmented email threads or shared spreadsheets to manage complex deals. It creates a centralized hub for all the information exchanged, speeds up the deal cycle, and keeps both parties on the same page throughout the process.
Creating a Success Plan in Outreach has five primary steps:
- Creating a Timeline
- Configuring a Timeline
- Defining Success Criteria
- Adding Resources
- Identifying Teams
- This article discusses the first process of Creating an Outreach Success Plan. For more information regarding additional processes required for completing a Success Plan, refer to the applicable content in the Additional Resources section of this article.

Notes:
- Success Plans have a 1:1 relationship with Opportunities. Each Success Plan needs to be associated with an Opportunity.
How To Configure a Success Plan:
- Access the Outreach Platform.
- Click the Success Plans icon (trifold map) in the navigation sidebar.
- Click the +Create Plan button.
Note: Alternatively, Users can create Success Plans by navigating to an Opportunity, clicking the Plan tab and clicking Create a Plan.
- Select an Opportunity to associate the Plan with. Note: An Opportunity must be available to associate with a Success Plan. For more information regarding Opportunities, refer to the How To Create an Opportunity article.
- Click the applicable option and proceed as instructed in the table below:
Option Description Template Creates a Success Plan using common events and content as a starting point. - Click Template.
- Select the applicable template from the dropdown menu.
- Click Next.
- Proceed to Step 6.
Blank Creates a new-blank Success Plan. - Click Blank.
- Click Next.
- Proceed to Step 6.
- Personalize the Success Plans based on the information in the table below:
Variable Description Plan Name The name of the Success Plan. This appears above the customer’s plan (e.g. “Customer Name + Outreach | Success Plan”). Customer Name The name of the customer. This is how your customers will be referred to within your plan. Customer Logo 300X300 PNG, GIF, or JPG image. This is what your customers will see when you share your plan. - Click Create Plan.
The Success Plan is created and navigates the User to the Success Plan’s Timeline where the User will complete the process of creating an Outreach Success Plan.
