Connecting your Salesforce Instance to Outreach Commit
Getting Started
To get started connecting your Salesforce environment to Commit, there are a few prerequisites:
- Ensure the user completing these steps is a Salesforce admin or user with the API Enabled permission in Salesforce. (See also: Salesforce's article on User Permissions.)
- You must already have an Outreach Commit account, created by your sales or customer success point of contact at Outreach.
- After your account is created, you should receive an email from Outreach Commit letting you know that your license is ready and prompting you to login.
Note: If you did not receive this email or cannot login, please submit a request via the Support Portal to our Technical Support Engineers.
Logging In
When logging in to Outreach Commit for the first time, you will be prompted to authenticate with Salesforce.
If necessary, log in to Salesforce. Then proceed to the screen that shows Commit and the Commit logo.
Permissions
Salesforce lists the various permissions that Outreach Commit will have for your Salesforce instance on this screen. These permissions are required for us to read all default and custom objects along with their history so that Outreach Commit can provide you with a total picture of your revenue and pipeline.
The following are the required objects from Salesforce that Outreach Commit will need visibility to:

- Event
- Event Relation
- Task
- Task Relation
- Contact
- Lead

- Opportunity Competitor
- Opportunity Contact Role
- Opportunity Field History
- Opportunity History
- Opportunity Line Item

Click Allow or Approve to finish the process.
Once the connection is completed, you will be redirected to the Commit admin portal with a message telling you the connection was successfully made.
