Objective
In order to establish a Sync with Outreach Product Object and equivalent Standard/Custom Object from Salesforce.
Applies To
- Outreach Admins
- Outreach Products
- Salesforce
Procedure
Steps to Perform in Salesforce
If your organization manages its Own products—i.e., the products you sell, within the Product Object that you wish to sync—no additional steps are required in Salesforce to establish a sync with Outreach, as the default value for Product Classification in Outreach is set to "Own" for products synced from the CRM. However, if your Product Object in CRM uses different values for this field, you can configure them as picklist options in the Field Configuration tab within Outreach and map them accordingly during field mapping for the sync.
Steps to Perform in Outreach
- Log in to Outreach as an Admin.
- Once the Object Mapping is established, Org Admins can define the Configuration in the same way as they define for other Standard Objects like Account or Prospects.
In order to successfully sync Outreach Product Object with corresponding Salesforce Standard/Custom Object, ensure that the following field mapping is established:
Salesforce | Outreach |
Equivalent Product name field | name |
Equivalent owner/created by field of the Standard/Custom Object to be synced | owner |
Equivalent Classification field of Standard/Custom Object to be synced | *classification |
*Note: The default value for Product Classification is set to "Own" for products synced from the CRM. Field mapping for this field is only required if the synced object contains products with different classification values. If so, you can configure the appropriate picklist options in the Field Configuration tab within Outreach and map them during the sync process.
For other fields like Product Code, Unit of Measure, Status etc establish relevant field mappings and decide on the sync between these fields.
Here’s an example of what a successful field mapping for Products would look like:
