Objective
Setting up default layouts for prospects and accounts ensures a consistent and efficient experience for users in your Outreach instance. This guide is designed to help Outreach Admins configure these settings easily and effectively.

Procedure
- Log in to Outreach.
- Click Administration.
- Select Users > Layouts.
- Choose the default layouts for Prospects or Accounts. This selection will be the first view users see upon navigating to those pages.
- Choose the default Smartviews for Prospects, Accounts, Opportunities or other objects. This selection will be the first filter users see upon navigating to those pages.
Note: Remember that user defaults are hierarchical. Global level settings apply to all users unless overridden at the Profile or User level.
Profile-Level Configuration (Optional): To set defaults for a specific Profile, navigate to Profile and repeat the process. These settings will override global defaults for users in that Profile.

Which Smartview or layout to choose as the default?
We recommend you, as an administrator, to create the best default Layouts or Smartviews for selected objects on individual objects pages. Choose a good naming convention and make those Layouts and Smartviews public. Then go to the Administration -> Users -> Layouts and select those newly created layouts or Smartviews as default. Or do the same for selected Profiles if needed.
