Purpose:
The purpose of this article is to provide direction to Outreach users in manually setting opt-out options for customers as applicable.
In sales, it's common for a prospect to reply to your emails requesting that you opt them out of future communication. If you use an unsubscribe link in your sequence emails, the prospect can remove themselves. However, you also have the ability to mark the prospect as "Opted Out".

- When Prospects are opted out, they cannot be emailed or called from within Outreach.
How To Opt Out a Single Prospect Out
- Access the Outreach Platform.
- Click on the Prospects icon (double silhouette) in the navigation sidebar.
- On the Prospects List View page, click the applicable Prospect. Note: Search, sort, and filter as applicable to view a specific Prospect or group of Prospects.
- On the Prospect Profile page, select Opt Out from the Edit dropdown menu.
- On the Opt Out Prospect? confirmation window, click to select the applicable communication channels to opt the Prospect out of.
Communication Channel Description Emails Checked, Prospects will not receive emails moving forward. Calls Checked, Prospects will not receive calls moving forward. Text Messages Checked, Prospects will not receive text messages moving forward. - Click Opt Out.
The Prospect is opted out of the communications channels as configured.
How To Opt Out Multiple Prospects
- Access the Prospects List View page.
- Search and Filter Prospects as applicable.
- Click the box to the left of the Name column header to select all Prospects in the list.
- Select Opt Out from the More Options dropdown menu.
- On the Opt Out Prospect? confirmation window, click to select the applicable communication channels to opt the Prospect out of.
- Click Opt Out.
- Click Confirm on the confirmation window.
- Click Done.
The Prospects are opted out of the communications channels as configured.
