How to transfer ownership of a Success Plan owned by former users

Objective

Here is how to access Success Plan settings and transfer ownership currently owned by former inactive users.

Applies To

  • Outreach Admins
  • Outreach Users

Procedure

Note: if you do not have access to edit the opportunity or account ownership, you'd need to contact your Outreach admin to complete those steps for you.

The workaround would be to make yourself - or any active user - an assignee on the opportunity record or associated account record on the plan, to have the ability to transfer ownership and manage the plan.

  1. In Outreach, find the opportunity associated with the success plan and click on the 'Activity' tab.
  2. On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see an 'Owner' field in the overview column.
  3. Move your cursor over this field, click on 'Edit' and select the new owner and save the change.
    > Remember that you will either need an Outreach Admin to perform this action for you, or you can change the account owner if you have permissions for it.
  4. Click on the 'Plan' tab and refresh your browser to ensure the ownership change is correctly updated.
  5. You should now access the plan's 'Settings' page and use the 'Transfer plan ownership' option.
  6. Once completed the new owner will be able to administer the plan as necessary.

Additional Information

Note that an alternative workaround would be for the Outreach Admin to temporarily unlock the seat of the former Outreach user owner and sign in through that user seat to transfer ownership of the success plan, then lock it again.
