User is seeing the error 'Not permitted to contact undefined' in the Outreach Everywhere extension

Symptom

The user is trying to view a record in Salesforce, but the Outreach Everywhere extension is not displaying that record and is instead showing the error, 'Not permitted to contact undefined'.

Applies To

  • Salesforce

  • Outreach Everywhere Chrome Extension
  • Users with assigned governance profiles that are configured so they can only view records that they own, that are owned by users that report to them, and/or users that are their peers.

Resolution

Affected users will have to reach out to their Outreach admins to get their governance profile updated.

Cause

The user trying to view the record and seeing the error, is not permitted to view records that are not owned by them. If the record is owned by a different user, then they will not be able to view that record.
