- Custom Fields have a character limit of 30K.

- Named custom fields appear as a named field on the Prospect record and within the CRM plugin field mappings on the Lead and Contact objects.
Procedure
Prospects & Accounts
- Access the Outreach Platform.
- Click the Administration (The Gear Icon).
- Under Records, select the record type you would like to add a custom field to, for example Prospects.
- You should see a list of all the custom fields available. Enter the custom field name as needed.
- Click Save.
The Custom Field is now available in the corresponding record's settings (i.e. Prospect, Account, or Opportunity as applicable).
Opportunities
- Access the Outreach Platform.
- Click on Administration (Gear Icon).
- Click on Opportunities under Records.
- Click on Fields configuration tab and then on Add Configuration. Note: When you edit an existing configuration and changing the validation, the existing records containing data that does not match the new validation will not be retroactively altered when the validation is changed. When a user next modifies the existing record, they will be prompted to update the field with a valid and supported value at that time. The outdated data may lead to inaccuracies in filtering and sorting records on the List View pages.
- Select the field that you want to configure.
- Select a field from the Field dropdown menu, which you want to configure.
- Add a descriptive label for the field. Note: Named custom fields appear as a named field on the Opportunities records and within the CRM plugin field mappings on the Opportunities objects.
- Choose one of the offered types/validations (Numerical, pick-list, etc.) for the field.
- In addition to the type, you can mark the field as a “Required Field”. This will force the users to add a values when creating or updating records.
- Click Save.
The new validation for the selected field is created and appears as a under the Fields Configuration tab for the selected object.
