Overview
Custom objects are admin-defined data structures that allow customers to bring data specific to their unique business needs into the Outreach platform.
Unlike standard objects such as Prospects, Accounts, and Opportunities, custom objects can be completely tailored to fit various business scenarios and workflows beyond the pre-defined scope.
Key features and benefits
- Customizable data structures: Admins can define fields, relationships, and basic validation rules to create data structures (objects) that align with their specific business requirements and support their sales activities.
- Data sync: Custom objects can be synced with external systems and databases such as CRMs via a native CRM sync or Public API.
- User permissions: Admins can set specific user permissions for custom objects, controlling access and editing rights to ensure data security and integrity.
- Automated workflows: Users can create automated workflows based on custom object data, streamlining processes and achieving the desired actions.
- Actionable data: Data stored in custom objects can be leveraged within Outreach for filtering, searching, sorting, and general enrichment of sales activities, turning static data into actionable insights.
Create and edit custom objects
Custom objects allow admins to define and manage unique data structures tailored to their organization's needs. This feature provides flexibility in organizing and accessing data that does not fit into standard object categories. Admins can define custom objects in custom object management in Outreach.
Once defined, admins can add fields, create relationships with other objects, set user permissions, establish a sync with other CRM, and create automated workflows.

Custom object permissions
Custom object permissions allow admins to control both access and actions that users can perform on specific custom objects in Outreach. These permissions can be set for a specific custom object for specific user profiles.
By defining specific permissions for different user profiles, admins can ensure that authorized users can perform appropriate actions, ensuring that sensitive information is managed appropriately.
