Create Campaign Object in Outreach WIP

Objective

As an Outreach admin, create custom objects that are for Campaigns.

Procedure

Create Campaign Object

  1. Log in to Outreach as an Admin.
  2. Click Administration > Records > Custom Objects.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Give it a name / plural i.e. Campaign & Campaigns.

  5. Click Add field to bring in for the object.
    • Example: pipeline source, status, start date, campaign currency, date.
    • The only field that you will absolutely need to bring in on this object however, is some field to indicate the name of the campaign.
    • Match these fields with the field type they have in SF e.g. start date will have a field type of date, pipeline source would have a picklist field type.

  6. Click Create Field.
  7. Navigate to Record customization.
  8. Arrange the order of fields that need to be brought in.

  9. Navigate to Records. The campaigns that have been pulled from the CRM will populate here.

Create a Campaign Member

  1. Navigate back to Custom Object.
  2. Click Create Object.
  3. Complete the required fields.
  4. Click Create Object.
  5. Click into the object and navigate to Fields.
  6. Click Add Field and relate back to the Campaign.
    • Complete the fields as recommended below:
      • Field Label: Campaign Relation
      • Field Type: Lookup
      • Toggle on Required Field
      • Referenced Object: Campaign
  7. Click Show Advanced Settings.
  8. Toggle on Display as tab in record detail and set Tab Records as Campaign Member.
  9. Set the tab name as Campaign Member.
  10. Click Create Field.
  11. Return to the custom object and click Add Field.
    • Complete the fields as recommended below:
      • Field Label: Prospect (L) - (Field to relate leads to the campaign)
      • Field type: Lookup Field
      • Required Field: No
      • Related Object: Prospect
  12. Click Show Advanced Settings.
  13. Toggle on Display as tab in record detail and set Tab Records as Campaign Member.
  14. Set the tab name as Campaign Member.Picture
  15. Click Add Field.
  16. Complete the fields as recommended below:
    1. Field Label: Prospect (C) (Field to relate contacts to the campaign)
    2. Field type: Lookup Field
    3. Required Field: No
    4. Related Object: Prospect 
  17. Click Show Advanced Settings. This is to have campaign information visible on prospect records in Outreach. 
  18. Toggle on Display as tab in record detail and set Tab Records as Campaign Member.
  19. Set the tab name as Campaign Member.Picture
  20. Add additional fields if needed.
  21. Navigate to Integrations & CRM.
  22. Add Campaign Object & Campaign Member Object to the sync. Follow these instructions on configuring custom object sync.
  23. The fields you map in each object are listed and visualized below. Add more fields if required.
    1. Campaign fields:
      1. Map Name field from SFDC to your required Campaign Name field in Outreach. You can also map addition fields as needed on the campaign object.  Picture
    2. Campaign Member Fields:
      1. Campaign ID, Lead ID, Contact ID Picture
      2. Please ensure Campaign member is configured as highlighted below
    3. Campaign Members Object
      1. Contact ID MAPS TO Prospect (C)
      2. Then go to advanced settings (... beside cog) next to Prospect(C). Picture
    4. Advanced Settings – Leave most settings as is except
      1. Outreach field information
        1. Mapped field: Toggle ON
        2. SALESFORCE OBJECT THAT FIELD MAPS TO: CONTACT Picture
      2. Lead ID maps to Prospect (L)
  24. Then go to advanced settings (the three dots on the right-hand side of the mapping) next to Prospect(L). Picture
  25. Advanced settings – Leave most advanced settings as is except
    1. Outreach field information
    2. Mapped field: Toggle ON
    3. SALESFORCE OBJECT THAT FIELD MAPS TO: LEADPicture
    4. Campaign ID maps to Campaign Relation
  26. Then go to the advanced settings by selecting the three dots on the right hand side of the mapping next to Campaign Relation.
    1. Advanced Settings – Leave most advanced settings as is except
      1. Outreach field information
        1. Mapped field: Toggle On
        2. SALESFORCE OBJECT THAT FIELD MAPS TO: LEAD

  27. Click Done.
