The only requirement when using SendGrid as a send method is having a valid Sendgrid API key.
For the given mailbox use case there is no need for a vendor selection, username or password details to be provided. When using Sendgrid in this way only a valid Sendgrid API key is needed. Failure to send may be down to either the Sendgrid package they are using (for example number of emails may be limited) or the API key may need to be regenerated.
As a reminder, we are not the ones that execute and send the emails, and that is done by your mail provider. If you're seeing issues sending with SendGrid, it's most likely a configuration or permission setting in SendGrid. Common issues we see can be around domain/sender verification, and/or the API key permissions.
