Overview
Outreach supports a custom text field type that allows admins to define a maximum character length at the point of configuration. Once set, the field enforces that limit wherever it appears, preventing users from saving values that exceed it.
- Create short text fields for concise labels, classifications, or structured inputs.
- Create longer text fields for notes or descriptions while still enforcing a defined limit.
- Align Outreach field limits with corresponding CRM field requirements to avoid sync issues.
Note: This field type is currently available for Prospect and Account records only.
Procedure
- Log in to Outreach.
- Go to Administration > Records > Prospects or Accounts.
- Select Fields configuration.
- Click Add configuration or open an existing one to modify.
- Select the text field type.
- Enter the maximum character length for the field.
- Save the configuration.
Once configured, the field is available across supported product surfaces. If a user enters a value that exceeds the limit, Outreach displays a validation message on save and prevents the value from being saved until it is shortened.
