Created by Khaled Atmaz Alsibai, Modified on Mon, 9 Feb at 11:02 PM by Alsabana Sahubarali

Objective

Configure a Branded URL as an Outreach Admin. A Branded URL provides Users the ability to personalize public calendar links, unsubscribe links, as well as open- and click-tracking links.

Note: In order to configure a Branded URL, a domain name must be purchased by the Organization.

Applies To

  • Outreach Admins

Before You Begin

  • Completing this process requires access to the organization's DNS provider.
  • Do not use "Outreach," the words "Sales" or "Marketing" or any special characters as part of the domain name.
  • Adding a CNAME record varies depending on the DNS provider and can take up to 20 minutes to generate. For more information regarding adding a CNAME record to a DNS provider, refer to the Additional Information section below.
  • It can take up to 24 hours for a DNS change to propagate.
  • If the Branded URL is Queued, it suggests that it is waiting for certificate creation. If the Branded URL is in a Queued status for more than 24 hours, please contact support.
  • One Branded URL can be active at a time.
  • Newly added domains default to a pending status.
  • Branded URLS are only utilized in the URLs linked throughout your sequences, and specifically for the following types of links: public calendar, unsubscribe, Success Plan, and open- and click-tracking.

Procedures

Create a New Branded URL

Branded URLs allow users to personalize Success Plan links, public calendar links, unsubscribe links, and open- and click-tracking links, and can improve an organization's spam score by putting these services under a domain that matches the organization's brand.

  1. Access the Outreach Platform.
  2. In the bottom left corner of the navigation sidebar, click Administration
  3. In the left nav, click Organization > Org info.
  4. On the Organization page, click to open the Branded URLs tab.
  5. Above and to the right of the list, click the Add URL button.
  6. In the New Branded URL window, copy the CNAME value (gray-highlighted field) and complete Step 1 for the applicable DNS service provider.
Note: Records may take up to 20 minutes to generate.
    Subdomain Record Type Value TTL
Subdomain chosen in step 1 [e.g., hello.mycompany.com] CNAME [value obtained from Outreach] Default/Automatic
  7. Under Step 2, input the domain name in the Domain field.
    • Be sure to input only the domain name and not the complete URL. Examples:
      • [Domain] hello.mycompany.com -- Input this!
      • [URL] http://hello.mycompany.com -- Do NOT input this!
  8. Click Save.

The new domain has now been added to the Branded URL list. All Success Plans, unsubscribe, email-open, public calendars, and click-tracking links delivered from Outreach will now contain the Branded URL.

Note: If you do not see the ... menu in the Branded URL list, scroll horizontally to the right until it is visible at the far end of the row.
