All custom fields within Outreach are formatted as plain-text fields, even if the corresponding mapped field in your CRM is configured as a date or integer field. There is no mechanism to format an Outreach Custom Field as anything other than a plain-text field.
Because Custom Fields are plain-text fields, the data they contain, even if it is a date or a number, cannot be referenced with filters such as "Before", "After", "Greater Than", or "Less Than." The available filters for custom fields within Outreach are: "Is", "Is not", "Starts With", "Is empty", and "Is Not Empty".
When a custom field on a Prospect, Account, or User contains a URL that you want to reference with a variable in your outbound messaging, simply inserting the variable for that custom field will insert the text of the link, it will not be a clickable link. To insert a variable as a clickable link, simply use the "Insert Link" function and, define your Link Text and add the appropriate variable in the "URL" field, as shown below
