Applies To
- Account Teams
- Multi-User Assignment
- Users
Answer
Using Account Team and Job Role Filters for Accounts can allow day-to-day Account Usage Team to be easier and quicker.
Sellers will have the ability to filter the Accounts List View by:
-
Account Team Member User
-
This can be used to filter for scenarios such as
- Show my Account Team memberships
- Show me all Account Teams with John Smith
-
This can be used to filter for scenarios such as
- Account Team Member Job Role
-
This can be used to filter for scenarios such as
- Show me Account Teams where I am the Account Owner
- Show me all the Account Teams that has a Customer Success Manager associated
The Job Roles filter will be available to customers using either Team Selling via Multi-User Assignment or Account Teams or both. The Account Team filter will be available only to customers who have set up Account Teams. MUA customers can continue to use the Assigned filter to get their MUA membership information.
Scenarios
Given below are the core scenarios that these filters support. Users can also use a combination of these filters along with other available Account filters to further fine tune their Accounts experience. They can also save Smart Views or default them as necessary.
Setup
Acme Org has three Account Teams with the following user memberships:
- Account Team 1: Alpine Ski
- User 1 with Job Role Account Manager
- Account Team 2: Datum Corp
- User 2 with Job Role Account Manager
- Account Team 3: Excellent Rentals
- User 1 with Job Role Account Executive
- User 2 with Job Role Account Manager
Scenario 1: User 1 is using the Account team member user filter
-
Account team member is you
- Result = only shows Accounts Alpine Ski and Excellent Rentals
- Account name is Alpine Ski
- Result = shows Alpine Ski
Scenario 2: User 1 is using the Account team member job role filter
-
Job role is Account Manager
- Result = shows Accounts Alpine Ski and Datum Corp
- Job role is named Account Executive
- Result = shows Excellent Rentals
Scenario 3: Using both filters together
- Account member is User2 + Job role is Account Manager
- Result = shows Datum Corp
The above example assumes that Acme Corp is using Account Teams exclusively to manage user access. If the users have access to records through other mechanisms (for example through assigned, direct or peers' permission in Profile), then those Accounts will also be returned when filtering, if and as applicable. · Job Roles are an optional field, so it is possible that the user might not have a Job Role assigned. In that case, the filter will not return Accounts where the user has not been assigned a Job Role
Additional Information
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I enable this feature?
No enablement is required. The Job Role filters will be available to any customer who has set up Multi-User Assignment or Account Teams or both. Account Team filters will only be available to customers who have set up Account Teams
Can I use these filters in combination with my existing Smart Views?
Yes. These filters work like any other filters, and you can use them in combination of your existing filters and Smart Views.
How do I find the name of my Account Team?
Account Team names are simply the name of the Accounts, so you can use your Account “Name” filter to find Account Teams. For example, for an Account Acme, both Account Team name and Account name is Acme. Filters support auto-complete to make it easier for you to find the right results faster.
Can I use Account Teams filter with my Multi-User Assignment setup?
No. However, you can use the existing “Assigned” filter to find Accounts you are assigned to.
I’m a non-Salesforce customer; can I use these filters?
Yes. However, depending on your setup, we might need to enable this feature in your instance. If you have set up Account Teams or Multi-User Assignment, and you are not seeing these filters automatically, please reach out to your Outreach partner.
