Symptom

Prospect replied, but the sequence state was not changed to 'replied'.

Applies To

  • Outreach sequence email steps
  • Prospect sequence states

Resolution

Check if the prospect who had replied to the email changed the subject line of the email thread.

If so, advise the prospect to not change the subject line of the email when replying 

(other than adding "RE: " to the beginning of it).

Cause

When the Subject Line in any way is changed, (other than adding "RE: " to the beginning of it)
this affects the metadata for the message and it is then no longer viewed as a reply to the initial email for the purpose of determining this record's sequence state.
