Objective

The purpose of this article is to provide an overview to Outreach admin about the multi-currency support in Outreach for Pipeline Management & Forecasting.

Applies To

  • Outreach Admin

Overview

Large enterprises, typically those with a global footprint, forecast and report on their opportunities with more than one currency (dollars, euros, yen, etc.)

This capability aims to enable managers & AEs of such enterprise customers to utilize Outreach Forecasting to be able to submit their forecast in their local currency. While different regions submit their sales forecast in their local currency the business leaders can review the forecasts rolled up in any of their preferred (or organization) currency.

Before you begin

Enabling Multi-Currency feature for your org

Before enabling multi-currency in Outreach, it should be enabled in your Salesforce instance. See the details here

Once multi-currency is set up and in use by your team inside of Salesforce, please follow the below steps to enable multi-currency in Outreach for your organization.

Note- Please ensure that you have not mapped a calculated field to Outreach standard estimated amount field

Note: If you have mapped the currency type field then proceed with the below steps. Otherwise, first map the appropriate currency type field to Estimated Sales Amount and map your calculated field to an Outreach custom field if you would like to keep that value in Outreach. Once your field mappings have been updated, run a historical sync job to pull in the appropriate values for all relevant Opportunities. Once completed, proceed with the below steps

Procedure

  1. Log in to Outreach as an Admin.
  2. Click on Administration → Integration→ CRM
  3. Click on Add Mapping.
  4. Map the currency type & dated conversion rate objects.
Note: Dated Conversion Rate object mapping is required only if you are using Advance Currency Management in Salesforce.
  5. Click on Currency Type object & map the fields.
  6. Click on Dated Conversion rate object & map the fields.
  7. Once these objects are mapped, they will start syncing from Salesforce to Outreach.

  8. Click on the Opportunity Object & map the Opportunity Currency field from Salesforce.
  9. Once the mappings are done, please run the sync for historical records for opportunity, currency type & dated conversion rate objects.
  10. Put the start date as the date when your salesforce organization was created & end date as today.
  11. Click Run sync.
  12. Once the above steps are done, please contact Outreach Technical Support to enable multi-currency in Outreach for your organization. If you updated your amount field mappings from a calculated to a non-calculated field please let us know that in the ticket as well.

Once multi-currency is enabled, currency conversion rates will be fetched from your Salesforce & can be viewed in Outreach under your Org Info.

Dated currency rates can be viewed by clicking on the currency.

Please note that these rates are read-only in Outreach

Users will then be able to select their preferred currency for forecasting, please see more details here
