Symptom
When trying to reconnect the Salesforce integration, you're automatically signed in instead of being prompted to choose a login method or enter credentials. This prevents the plugin from completing the connection with the intended integration user.
Applies To
- Salesforce orgs with Single Sign-On (SSO) configured
- Orgs that have enabled or enforced use of a custom Salesforce domain (My Domain)
Resolution
Option 1: Configure your integration user for SSO.
Set up the Salesforce integration user you want to use with the plugin so it works within your org's existing SSO configuration. This allows the connection to complete through the SSO flow rather than getting interrupted.
Option 2: Use an integration user that's already SSO-enabled.
If your org has another integration user already configured for SSO, use that user to connect the plugin.
Cause
Due to security changes on Salesforce's side, Outreach will adhere to the SSO login configuration in Salesforce. If your org has configured an SSO flow that triggers whenever your Salesforce custom domain is accessed, Outreach will redirect you to login via SSO when reconnecting the plugin, and this redirect URL can't be modified. This is expected behavior on Salesforce's end, not an issue with the plugin connection itself.
Additional Information
This behavior is a result of Salesforce's own domain and SSO handling, not a change Outreach can configure around on our end.
