Objective
The purpose of this article is to provide direction to Outreach Users in associating email activities with an opportunity in Outreach.
Users need control over how email activities associate with opportunities to ensure clear and accurate visibility into the progress and history of an opportunity. Also, it plays a big role in correctly populating opportunity variables when used in emails.
Additionally, this determines how the activity is associated in Outreach and how this activity syncs back to Salesforce and

Notes
- Outreach Admins must enable this feature for users. For more information on enabling the associate email activities to opportunities feature, refer to the How To Enable the Associate Email Activities to Opportunities Feature article.
- This functionality is only available in Gmail, Outreach Mail, and Outlook.
- The To: or CC: field must be populated with a recipient.
Procedure
- Compose a new email.

Select the applicable opportunity from the Opportunity picker.

Note: Only the following opportunities populate the list:
- open opportunities the Prospect is associated with via contact role
- open opportunities directly associated with an Account where the Prospect is in (read more about opportunity picker values)

Note: Only the following opportunities populate the list:
- The email will be associated with the selected opportunity after the user sends the email.
Associate an Email Activity to an Opportunity with Outlook
- Compose a new email.

Select the applicable Opportunity from the Opportunity picker.
