Q: What is the refresh frequency (Deal Summary vs Custom Insights)?

A: The Deal Summary is refreshed automatically approximately every 24 hours. Custom insights, however, do not refresh on a fixed schedule alone. They are primarily event‑driven, and refresh when new    relevant data is introduced. They are updated when new qualifying activity is associated with the opportunity.

This is what Triggers Insight Refresh / Regeneration:

  • Meeting recordings (primary driver)
  • Call recordings via the dialer
  • Email interactions (contextual influence, but lighter weight)
  • Other engagement tied to the opportunity/account.
    That said: Recorded conversations (meetings & calls) are the strongest trigger because they provide structured conversational data.
    Emails and other activities may influence context, but they are less likely to independently trigger a full regeneration unless part of broader activity.
    So the most reliable trigger is: New recorded conversation added to the deal


Q: How insights behave when using a bidirectional sync with Salesforce?

A: Outreach pushes the current state of insights, not a full appended history
This means:
The field in Salesforce reflects the latest generated insight. It is generally updated/overwritten, not appended as a running log (unless your org has custom handling outside standard setup).
So, Salesforce sees the latest version, not cumulative versions.


Q: What Happens if Insights is edited manually?

A: This is an important point: If a user manually edits or adds notes to an AI-generated insight,
that content can be overwritten or replaced when new insights are generated
In general: Deal Agent treats insights as AI-managed fields, not permanent user-authored records. Future refreshes prioritise new AI output. 

The best practice is to keep manual notes in: dedicated note fields, Custom fields, Opportunity notes (outside AI-managed insight fields).
