How To Manually sync Multiple LinkedIn tasks to the CRM

Created by Ayesha Naweed, Modified on Mon, 9 Feb at 11:01 PM by Alsabana Sahubarali

Objective

The purpose of this article is to provide direction to Outreach Users and Admins on manually syncing bulk Linked tasks with CRM.

Applies To

  • CRM Sync
  • Admins

Before you begin

It should be noted that the process described only applies to orgs that have Advanced Task Mapping enabled. Bulk syncing is not available for orgs with only Standard Task Mapping. To enable Advanced Task Mapping, contact Outreach Support.

  • This article references syncing to Salesforce. The process is the same with Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Some Outreach views and options require admin-level governance permissions. If the options outlined in this article are unavailable, contact the Org’s Outreach Administrator as applicable. For more information regarding governance profile settings, refer to the Governance Profile Settings Overview article.
  • Outreach automatically looks for changes in records in both the Outreach Platform and the CRM instance; however, depending on the plugin's settings, changes may not be synced immediately.
  • Outreach allows the syncing of Prospect records to capture and import new and updated information immediately through a manual import process.
  • Manually syncing records takes up more API calls than allowing a record to automatically update through the plugin and could potentially exceed API call quota.

Procedure

  1. Access the Outreach Platform.
  2. Click the Activity icon in the navigation sidebar.
  3. Select "Tasks" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Sort and filter the applicable records along with the filter, "Category is LinkedIn"
  5. Select all tasks.
  6. Click the More Options icon (...) and select Synchronize with CRM.
  7. Select the applicable action and options based on the descriptions in the table below:

    Action Description
Pull data down from CRM Updates the record in Outreach with the latest information from the CRM.
Push data up to CRM Updates the record in the CRM with the latest information from Outreach.
Find corresponding object without changing data Connects the Object ID used in the CRM
Ignore Integration Filters and Conditions Ignores any conditions set on Inbound/Outbound Update in the CRM.
Note: Syncing this option will bypass the plugin's configuration settings and conditions.
Force sync of all fields for selected tasks Updates Outreach or the CRM with the latest values regardless of whether or not there is a new Modified By date since the last polling cycle.
Note: This is normally used when you have records that are not syncing/updating due to a recent change you made in the CRM plugin and field mappings. New records should update and sync fine, but "prior" records need to be force synced this way.
  8. Click Sync.
