Symptom
When trying to send a scheduled email with Outreach, a global throttle limit error is shown with an updated scheduled time.
Applies To
- Outreach Users
Resolution
Emails that are not sent due to the global throttle limit error will be sent at the updated scheduled time. The global throttle will generally only delay the message by a few minutes after the originally scheduled time
Note: If the sequence schedule does not permit mailings on the weekends, the message will be scheduled to send on the upcoming Monday.
Confirming Message Date
- Click Prospects.
- Search and click on the prospect.
- Navigate to Mailing.
- Review Activity History for when the prospect was moved to the current step.
- Navigate to Sequences.
- Review the task due date for the step.
- Confirm the task due date and sequence schedule align.
Cause
The global throttle limit exists in order to prevent bottlenecks that would cause significant delays. The limit exists due to issues where mailings on high-volume days (like Monday mornings and major holidays) would cause a massive bottleneck in emails sent globally across organizations. This throttle is in place to ensure that mailings no longer hit that bottleneck.
