Amplify's Return Date Extraction FAQs:
Q: How exactly does the Amplify return date extraction feature work?
A: The next event in a sequence will be auto-paused as soon as Amplify processes the message and resumes at the extracted return date. When/if you open the OOO message, you can adjust the resume date as applicable.
Q: What date formats does Amplify support?
A: Amplify supports the following date formats:
- US Format - MM/DD/YYYY
- Explicit Written - January 15th, 2020; Jan 15, 20
- Relative Written - "I'll be out of the office this week."; "I'll return next week."
Note: Amplify does not support international DD/MM/YYYY formats. If you have separate rulesets for EMEA sequences, they can be excluded.
Q: Does Amplify protect from false extractions?
A: Yes. To limit false extractions there is a 100-calendar day cap - if the return date is 100 days or more from the receipt date, Amplify will not register the extraction.
Q: Will OOO referrals and return dates be extracted from all OOO emails?
A: No, only for OOO emails received from Prospects who are currently in a sequence.
Q: If sequences are auto-paused and auto-resumed when return dates are extracted, why do I need to see that pop-up?
A: This is mainly to communicate what Amplify has done and will do. It also lets you customize the sequence resume date.
Q: What if an OOO message does not explicitly mention a return date?
A: For generic OOO messages like "I am currently OOO," the default sequence ruleset the Prospect is assigned to is used.
If the Resume OOTO Prospects option is enabled, the fixed wait time will be used to auto-resume. If the Resume OOTO Prospects option is disabled, the sequence will not be auto-resumed.
Q: Can Amplify extract relative return dates such as "I will return at the end of next week."?
A: Yes. Amplify extracts both absolute and relative dates. For relative dates, the email send date is used to calculate when the relative date is.
Q: What data quality controls are in place?
A: Extracted return dates beyond 100 days from the send date are ignored.
Q: Why am I not seeing the Amplify notification for some OOO emails?
A: One of the following may apply:
- The email sender is not in a sequence.
- The extracted return date is more than 100 days from the current date.
- The return date mentioned in the OOO email is a date that occurs in the past.
- The return date was stated ambiguously enough that the machine learning system could not confidently extract it; in this case, the ruleset is used.
