Using Omni in Slack

Objective

This article explains how to use Omni — Outreach's AI assistant — directly from Slack. Omni in Slack lets you ask sales-related questions and get answers without leaving your Slack workspace. It works the same way as Omni in the Outreach product, delivered as a Slack bot.

Before You Begin

  • An Outreach Admin must enable Omni
  • Your org must have the Amplify package. Contact your Outreach account representative if you are unsure.
  • The Outreach Slack integration must be connected to your workspace. If the Omni bot does not appear in Slack, ask your Admin to verify the integration is set up

Procedure

  1. Open Omni in Slack. In your Slack workspace, find the Outreach app under Apps or in your direct messages. Click on it to open the conversation.
  2. Type your question or request. Talk to Omni the same way you would in Outreach. You can ask questions in natural language — no special commands or syntax are required.
  3. Review Omni's response. Omni will reply directly in the Slack conversation. For multi-step requests, Omni will guide you through the steps one at a time.

    Not sure what to ask? Start with a simple prompt like "Show me my open opportunities" or "Summarise my last call with Acme Corp" to get going.

What You Can Ask Omni

Omni can help with a wide range of sales tasks directly from Slack:

  • List and analyze your pipeline, top deals, or stuck opportunities
  • Review account and prospect details, including engagement history
  • Search and summarize emails, meetings, and call transcripts
  • Provide performance metrics, leaderboards, and trends for you or your team
  • Draft follow-up emails based on recent meetings or customer interactions
  • Explain Outreach sales terminology and workflows

Same capabilities as in-productOmni in Slack has the same capabilities as Omni in the Outreach product. Responses are generated from your Outreach data in real time.
Amplify package requiredOmni in Slack is only available to organizations with the Amplify package. Users in orgs without this package will not see the Omni bot in Slack.
Admin enablement requiredOmni must be turned on in Outreach admin settings before it is available to users. If you cannot find the Omni bot in Slack, ask your Outreach Admin to check the settings.
Conversation contextOmni maintains context within a single Slack conversation thread. Starting a new message using New Chat thread will begin a fresh session.
