Tracking Email Opens and Clicks on Links
While creating templates in Outreach, you have the option to track the amount of times a prospect has opened your email and to track how many times they have clicked on links. When these icons are red, this means the features are enabled.
Outreach will track every time an email is opened when this setting is enabled. It is always defaulted to on.
We do this by placing an invisible tracking pixel in your emails. This means that each time the email is opened, this pixel is loaded, and Outreach will track it as an open. This is true if the email is opened by the same person multiple times or if the recipient forwards the email and the new recipients open the email.
If an email has not been opened, the eyeball icon in your Outbox will be greyed out. If an email has been opened once, this icon will turn blue. If it’s opened multiple times, you will see a red number appear above the eyeball icon.
Tracking Clicks on Links:
Enabling this feature is great for tracking important links in your templates. This setting is by default turned off.
Once enabled, Outreach will track whether or not a prospect clicks on one of the links in your email. Keep in mind, Outreach tracks that a link was clicked, but not which link was clicked on.
The same as open tracking, if no links have been clicked on, the link icon in your Outbox will be greyed out. If an link has been clicked once, this icon will turn blue. If it’s clicked multiple times, you will see a red number appear above the link icon.
*Note: Please use this feature sparingly. Using it too much may cause you to be flagged for Spam.
